  • Contact data: email address, phone number, delivery address and billing address
  • Order data: order history, product preferences
  • Payment data: payments are processed via our payment partner Mollie. Bopets does not store any bank card or credit card details.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, cookies

3. Why do we process your data?

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Processing and handling your orders (performance of contract)
  • Sending order confirmations and delivery updates (performance of contract)
  • Customer service and answering queries (legitimate interest)
  • Improving our webshop and services (legitimate interest)
  • Sending newsletters and offers, subject to your explicit consent (consent)
  • Complying with legal obligations, such as accounting requirements (legal obligation)

4. Legal bases for processing

We process your data on the basis of the following legal grounds pursuant to Article 6 GDPR: performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests and legal obligations.

5. Sharing data with third parties

We only share your personal data with third parties when necessary for our services:

  • Mollie: for processing payments (Bancontact, iDEAL, credit card and other payment methods)
  • Delivery services: bpost and PostNL for the delivery of your order
  • Google Analytics: for analysing website traffic (anonymised)

We never sell your personal data to third parties. We have data processing agreements in place with all processors to safeguard the security of your data.

7. Retention period

We do not retain your personal data any longer than strictly necessary for the purposes for which they were collected. Order data is retained for the legally required period of 7 years for accounting purposes. Account data is retained as long as your account is active. After deletion of your account, your data will be removed within 30 days, unless legal retention obligations require otherwise.
