How to wash your cat correctly

Step 1: Prepare everything
Lay out towels, shampoo and a cup before you start. Cats do not like surprises; a calm, organised bath reduces stress. Optionally trim nails beforehand. Brush long-haired cats first to remove tangles, optionally using Biogance Cat Detangling Spray.
Step 2: Lukewarm water, gradually
Fill a basin with 5 cm of lukewarm water. Gently place your cat in and wet the coat with a cup, never with a shower head at full force. Avoid the head. Tip: does your cat absolutely refuse water? Use Biogance Dry Shampoo or Cleansing Foam as a waterless alternative.
Step 3: Apply the cat shampoo
Dilute a small amount of cat shampoo in water and gently massage into the coat. Start at the neck and work towards the tail. Avoid eyes, ears and nose. Leave for 1-2 minutes. Choose the right shampoo: Long Hair for long-haired, White Coat for white coats, Oily Coat for greasy coats.
Step 4: Rinse thoroughly
Rinse all shampoo out completely; cats lick their coat clean and any residue will be ingested. Rinse especially thoroughly for long-haired breeds. Optionally use Biogance anti-static lotion afterwards to reduce fluff and static.
Step 5: Dry and reward
Wrap your cat in a warm towel and pat the coat dry. Do not use a hairdryer unless your cat is used to it. Reward your cat with a treat to make the next bath less stressful. Clean the ears with Biogance Ear Lotion and the eyes with Eye Lotion for complete care.
